Ingredients
  • 200g of shredded coconut
  • 200g of the white solid part of full fat coconut milk(refrigerated overnight before use)
  • 2tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 250g of dark vegan chocolate
Instructions
  1. in a bowl mix together shredded coconut, the white solid part of full fat coconut milk and maple syrup – I advice mixing with your hands, since the mixture is very thick. Taste the mixture to adjust the sweetness to your taste – if desired, add extra maple syrup;
  2. with your hands create bars that are in size and shape similar to the original Bounty bars, and place them on a plate covered with parchment paper;
  3. place the prepared bars for some minutes in freezer. Meanwhile melt the dark chocolate either in a microwave (use low power to avoid burning the chocolate) or in a water bath (bain marie). Then let the chocolate cool down a bit, until it’s not burning hot anymore;
  4. take out the bars from the freezer and with help of two forks, roll each bar in the melted chocolate until the bar is completely covered from all sides. Hold the bar on a fork for some seconds to let the extra chocolate drop off, then place the bar back on the parchment paper. Continue with the rest of the bars;
  5. place all the chocolate covered bars in fridge for 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.
